OSCN 2009 - saralScrum

saralScrum is my project for OSCN 2009. It is accepted and work is underway in great speed. :) Currently my project page is not open for public as it is competition. It will be open when competition is over. Competition result date is Saturday, June 20, 2009. But i am very much excited about the project and want to share some information about it here. As the first round, everybody will be interested to know what is my project all about.

Following is the abstract of my proposal

Abstract

With compared to waterfall process model, Scrum has very promising results in software development management with better on time, on budget and with high value features product delivery. But in distributed team following Scrum is difficult due to geographical barriers. The main objective of the project is to develop a web-based system that supports artifacts of Scrum. I named it as saralScrum. On the successful completion of the project, a system with essential element like project backlog, sprint backlog, burndown chart of Scrum will be ready. saralScrum will act as common platform for distributed scrum team. It will greatly reduce communication problem and help scrum team to have up to date information of the project. It will also make aware of Scrum to Nepali software company which is constantly making effort to place Nepal as one of good outsourcing location in the world. With its use they will have more competitive advantage in global arena.

That's all for now. More about saralScrum is comming soon.
